Robert Davis Named KFDA Funeral Director Of The Year

Topeka, Kas.

Robert Davis of Kansas City, was recently honored by being named Kansas Funeral Director of the Year for 2022. at the 2022 Tri-State Funeral Directors Convention, which was held May 1-4, at the Sheraton Hotel and Overland Park Convention Center in Overland Park, Kansas.

Davis was also recognized for his service as President of the Kansas Funeral Directors Association (KFDA).

Funeral directors and embalmers from across Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska gathered to participate in the many wonderful educational opportunities presented by experts in the funeral profession and to view the latest in funeral service supplies, equipment and services displayed by funeral service suppliers.

Davis is the owner and President of Thatcher’s Funeral Home of Kansas City. He received a Mortuary Science degree from Kansas City Kansas Community College and is a Kansas licensed funeral director and embalmer.

In addition to a career in funeral service, Davis spent 14 years in the insurance industry as a licensed Property & Casualty, Life & Health agent. He owned and operated a successful agency in Eastern Jackson County, Missouri.

Davis is committed to giving back to the community. He is the Trustee Board Chairman for First Baptist Church, KCK, board member for the KCKCC Mortuary Science Department Advisory Board, former KCKCC Foundation (Chairman), and MO State Funeral Directors & Embalmers Association (past president).

Davis and his wife Crystal are the proud parents of four children, Nathan, Sarah, Robert III and Tyrese. Davis is the Immediate Past President of the Kansas Funeral Directors Association.
