WALTER BROWN

Holly Bushnell, 71, a caring and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend died on May 20, 2022. She was born to the union of Calvin L. Bushnell and Lubirtha Bushnell on December 25, 1950, in Harrisburg, Penn.

She moved to Kansas City, Mo., at the age of two, there after she was a lifelong resident. She was a graduate of Manual High School class of 1969, and then went on to study nursing and became a nursing assistant at Kansas City General hospital.

Both parents and one brother, Sanfort Bushnell Sr., and one sister Jeanette Augustine proceeded her in death.

She had many hobbies which included reading her Harlequin romance books, potting plants, crocheting, watching CSI and spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed listening to oldies music, playing bingo, and

Walter Earl “Walt” Brown (called “Butch” by his relatives), 73, died peacefully on May 12, 2022, after an extended illness. He was born on May 29, 1948, to Ruth and Walter Brown.

Baptized at an early age, he was a 50-years Plus member of the Eighth Street Baptist church where he faithfully served in the choir, the Laymen, the Drama Ministry, was Chairman of the Trustee Board, an ordained Deacon, a Willa Gill Center Soup Kitchen volunteer, and he was a member of “The Ark”: Family and Friends’ Bible Study Group, for over eight years.

He was the Assistant Scout Leader of Boy Scout Troop #304 (Kaw Council) and the proud father of three Eagle Scouts. His youngest son is a Star Rank Boy Scout. Brown was an Advisory Board member for the United Way of Greater Kansas City, a Chaplain for the Basehor Chapter of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW Post 11499), and a league bowler with the Seniors Bowling League for over five years.

A lifelong resident of Kansas City, Kas., he graduated from Sumner High school in the Class of ’66, and he earned an Associate Degree in Business from Kansas City, Kas., Community college.

He was inducted into the U.S. Army on September 5, 1967, and he served in Vietnam from March 1968
