City Offices Closed For 4th Of July; Extra Trash Bags Allowed; July 5 - 9 Trash Pickup Affected
KCMO residents can set out extra bags with no tags July 5-9
For immediate release: June 30
Administrative offices for the City of Kansas City will be closed on Monday, July 4, in observance of the Independence Day holiday. Trash and recycling collection will be affected.
The holiday schedule means these pickups will be delayed by a day, so if your normal trash and recycling day is Monday, it will be picked up on
Tuesday.
Additionally, the City is holding a weeklong, no-tag event July 5-9. Residents can put out up to 12 bags curbside without any additional tags as long as each bag weighs less than 40 pounds. The bags should not contain any hazardous waste, bulky items, or leaf and brush.
