The KC CALL

Peaceful Protest Planned For April 5th At Jackson County Courthouse

The family and friends of Elijah Jones will hold a praceful protest outside of the Jackson County courthouse on April 5th, from 9:30 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Protesters are asking that former assistant prosecutor Dan Miller’s cases be opened and investigated.

in 2008 Miller prosecuted a man named jones. In the Jones case a detective, allegedly, lied in his sworn probable cause statement by stating Jones was identified from a photo lineup. However, one hour and thirty seven minuts of the interview is missing of where the alleged identification took place. Another detective, allegedly, destroyed the notes taken during that interview.

Assistant prosecutor Dan Miller in fact knew that the important evidence had been destroyed and still chose to prosecute Jones.

The tainted identification was the only reason .Jones was arrested and convicted.

In detectives probable cause statement, detective stated that .Jones shoes matched shoe prints left at the crime scene but during trial criminalist Carl Carlson stated that he could not say that Mr.Jones shoes match shoe prints left at the crime scene. Dan miller has been disbarred for withholding evidence from the defense attorney of Matthew Davis, who was accused of abandoning the body of his girlfriend, Amber McGathey, after she died of a drug overdose in 2004. Mr.Elijah Jones has been incarcerated since 2006. We are asking that Dan Miller’s cases be opened and investigated, and we are asking the community to come and support us in a peaceful protest on march 29th 2023. thanks for your support
