Tina L. Charles Tina died on March 13, 2023. She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorthula Charles; her youngest daughter, Brea Channell White, Rubin and Dorcas Charles; and three aunts and nine uncles.

She was born on November 26, 1966, in Kansas City, Kas., to Dorthula Charles and George Morton, where she was her mother’s only child. As an only child, Tina was always in the finest attire and she always drove the finest cars. Tina went to Kansas City, Kas., Public schools where she attended Wyandotte High school receiving her diploma in 1985. She would proceed to have two daughters, Jazmine and Brea White.

She was always a loving and caring person, she decided to pursue nursing and received her CNA license where she worked at the Providence Medical center and St. Mary’s hospital for several years. She attended the University of Central Missouri and received her Bachelor’s Degree as a Social Worker. She was a member of Fdfwc as a child into her adult years.

She was her own person, she lived life free spirited spreading love, joy and happiness to everyone she met. She became best friends with Roz and Tania and they were officially named ‘The Divas’ by Hattie Smith over 30 plus years ago. They were always together, dining, childbirths, deaths, graduations, traveling, and so many other occasions The ‘Divas’ were sisters in Christ, sisters for life. After becoming sick, she retired from working as a Social Worker, where she kept numerous families and their homes together.

She leaves to cherish her memories: daughter, Jazmine (Terrance) Vetaw; father, George (Alice) Morton; brother, Joseph (Katie) Morton; sister, Janice (Thomas) Clement; one grandson, Jaja; four nephews, Demonte, Devontez, Damaris, Sloan; her divas, Roz and Tania, including two aunts, one uncle, several cousins and family.

Donna Broils, 78, a beloved resident of Kansas City, Kas., died on February 23, 2023. She was born and raised in Kansas City, Kas.

Her parents who have preceded her in death, Ernest and Ivory Burdette Mitchell, had seven children born to this union, Ernest Harvey Mitchell Jr., Warner Odell Mitchell, Jacqueline Mitchell Snow, Warnell Olin Mitchell and stillborn, Janet Mitchell,

She professed Christ and was baptized at an early age, and was baptized by Roy A Reed. She was a member of the Second Baptist for over 50 years. She served on the Adult Usher Board, sang in the Senior Choir, Sunday School teacher. She was also a part of the School of Christian Education, Chairwomen of the Ester Circle, and also served as the condolences coordinator. She was also a member of Grace and Glory.

Ms. Broils attended Central High school in Missouri, and had one daughter, Tracy Calhoun (deceased); one granddaughter, I. Danielle Motley, (Brian); two great grandsons, Morris and Mitchell Motley.

She had held various positions around Kansas City, Bendix, ADT, J.W. Jones Funeral home.

She was known for her kind heart and her willingness to help others. She was always there for her family and friends, and she always put others’ needs before her own. Her generosity was unmatched, and she never hesitated to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed.

Left to mourn her passing her granddaughter, Ivory Danielle Motley (Brian); two great grandsons, Morris and Mitchell Motley; one sister, Evg. Mary E. Thompson; a host of cousins, Burdettes and Mitchells; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and a host of cousins, Burdettes in Chicago and Mitchells in Kansas City.

Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 10 a.m., at the Greater Faith Baptist church, 1937 N. 32nd Street, Kansas City, Kas. Service available via Livestream on www. mstcsunset.com.
