AHMAD SIMMONS

Ahmad Simmons was born on October 30, 1989, in Kansas City, Mo., to Arthurine Henderson Simmons and Thomas Simmons. He resided in Kansas City most of his life.

He attended Central High school where he received a high school diploma. He gained employment with the family restaurant business at the age of 15. He later established his own food truck business called Bro Bro’s where he served the best street tacos in the city. Ahmad had a passion for pickleball and an undying love for his dog Honcho.

His mother describes him as humble, meek, respectful, full of joy and a lover of life. If he didn’t have anything good to say he wouldn’t say anything at all. His nieces describe him as goofy, funny and super supportive stating he always showed up for everyone. He was caring, loving and passionate. Whatever he did, wherever he went, and whomever he encountered, an impact was made. If enjoying life was a person, it would be Ahmad. He created unforgettable moments with the people he loved and he never met a stranger.

He leaves to mourn his mother: Arthurine Henderson Simmons; father: Thomas Simmons Jr.; paternal grandmother: Louise Bass; three sisters: Shukriyyah Simmons who preceded him in death, Farida Simmions and Precious Dydell; five brothers: Thomas Simmons who preceded him in death, Al Taylor, Rashad Simmons, and Tomi Simmons; seven nephews: AJ, Tommie, Keith, Amir, Zion, Isaiah, Thomari and Dane; six nieces: Jaquaylah, Alaysia, Ja’Nyah, Brooklyn, Kali, and Emilia and three great nephews: Tommie, Amari and Keith III. He also leaves to mourn a special lady: Sherry Clark-Bey; a close friend, Kyla; a very special little princess: Reagan, and a host of phenomenal aunts, exceptional uncles, amazing cousins and close friends.

Services were held on Monday, April 24, 2023, at the Serenity Funeral home.
